A limestone hill carved with a colossal seated Buddha image, laser-etched into the cliff face in 1996 to mark the 50th anniversary of King Bhumibol's coronation and inlaid with genuine gold leaf. At 109 metres tall and 70 metres wide, it's one of the largest Buddha images in the world, set within a landscaped park of ponds, lotus flowers and open-air pavilions at the base of the mountain. Visitors can't climb the hill itself, but the viewing grounds bring you close enough to appreciate the scale and detail of the gilded outline.
